"From cornering and breaking to sheer power and responsiveness, Focus ST is designed, engineered and built for the fast lane" - Fords official press release.
The Focus ST in 2018 looks set to continue in its predecessors' footsteps of delivering excitement, joy and an overall fun feel when behind the wheel. With its 2.0L EcoBoost engine and specifically designed performance and handling features it's no wonder why we can't keep these little cars on our lot.
So let's look at 5 things in the ST that may persuade you to take a look.
The 2.0L EcoBoost I-4 (high out-put) Engine
Let's start with the numbers, this sporty hatchback puts out 252 horse power and 270 foot pounds of torque. That's almost 50 more horsepower than the Honda Civic Si (205) and more torque than the Subaru WRX (258) and when extra acceleration is needed, the turbocharger can automatically provide additional boost, operating for up to 15 seconds to extend peak torque.
Enhanced Torque Vectoring Control
Not sure what Torque vectoring control is? Basically this is what makes the Focus ST a joy to drive. The system continually balances the distribution of engine torque to the front wheels to help reduce torque steer during acceleration. It also helps in cornering situations, it will brake either an inside front wheel or, if required, will also brake an inside rear wheel to reduce understeer, promote turn-in and increase agility. This is noticeable when cruising down Parleys canyon from Park City.
3-Mode AdvanceTrac
This one is more for the experienced driver as the Focus ST gives you 3 modes, Standard, Sport and Off. Giving you the ability to use oversteer to drift a car through a corner. It also allows you a degree of wheel spin enabling the driver, you to maximize the performance of the vehicle. I just wouldn't suggest drifting in downtown Slat Lake the local law enforcement may not like that.
The option of luxury
The ST has the option to select between 3 packages known as the ST1, ST2 and ST3. These packages enable the ST to fall into the budget of nearly most or all Americans. With each package comes even more features and specs, the top the ST3 even has RECARO full leather heated trimmed front bucket seats. Also Sync 3 is available with the ST2 package which is a feature you need to check out.
The ST Octane Academy
Now with every new purchase you will get the highly acclaimed ST Octane Academy experience. Good news to is that its located in our backyard in what used to be the Larry H Miller Motor sport park in Tooele. This Academy will give on track experience as well as some fun parking exercises and an UrbanX course. For more details, visit www.stoctaneacademy.com
Of course it's always better to see the vehicle in person and to get a feel for it behind the wheel, so why not reach out to me by calling or texting my cell (801) 706 1999 or emailing me at FordTruckland@gmail.com As always thank you for reading hopefully I was able to give you a little insight into this great Ford Product.
